A research portfolio built around evidence
WirelessLab work connects repeatable measurements with the conditions that make wireless systems succeed or fail: mobility, obstructions, spectrum, hardware, and time. The themes below connect the local figures to a verified publication record.
5G / V2X
Connected mobility under real network conditions
Vehicular links are evaluated where radio conditions, mobility, and application requirements meet. The work covers LTE/5G-V2I testbeds, remote-driving support, and field measurements of RSRP, throughput, latency, jitter, and packet loss.
- Question
- Can a measured mobile link support a demanding vehicular or teleoperation use case?
- Method
- Software-defined-radio testbeds, vehicle trials, drive tests, and KPI analysis.
- Output
- Traceable evidence for coverage, link budget, delay, and service feasibility.

SDR testbeds
Turning a lab setup into a field instrument
Open and configurable radio platforms make it possible to compare protocol behavior with physical-layer measurements. The testbed work links repeatable indoor experiments to outdoor observations instead of treating either environment as a proxy for the other.
- Question
- Which measurements remain meaningful when the radio moves from a controlled bench to a live route?
- Method
- SDR hardware, configurable LTE/5G and NR stacks, coaxial or over-the-air links, and synchronized logs.
- Output
- Reproducible test conditions for comparing radio, channel, and service behavior.

Propagation and coverage
Maps and models that explain the link
Propagation studies translate channel impulse responses, path loss, and received-power measurements into coverage evidence. The result is a practical view of where a link works, how it degrades, and which model assumptions need to be checked.
- Question
- How do distance, obstructions, and the built environment shape received signal quality?
- Method
- Channel measurements, drive and scan routes, path-loss fitting, and geospatial visualization.
- Output
- Readable coverage maps and model inputs for planning, validation, and troubleshooting.

LoRa / NB-IoT
Low-power links beyond the line of sight
Low-power wide-area systems are compared in the conditions that expose their practical differences: non-line-of-sight reception, diffraction, mobility, and application constraints. The emphasis is on measured behavior rather than nominal range alone.
- Question
- Which low-power technology is better suited to a given obstruction, route, or IoT service?
- Method
- LoRa and NB-IoT experiments with SDR support, drive measurements, and signal-quality mapping.
- Output
- Scenario-specific evidence for reliability, coverage, and deployment tradeoffs.

Security and latency
Making wireless behavior measurable and predictable
Wireless systems expose both security and timing risks through their measurements. The portfolio includes machine-learning-based detection of active eavesdroppers and probabilistic analysis of tail latency, alongside KPI views that keep variability visible.
- Question
- Can observed radio and network signals reveal a threat or a latency risk early enough to act?
- Method
- RSS and CSI feature sets, supervised classifiers, KPI traces, and probabilistic tail-latency models.
- Output
- Models and visual evidence for secure transmission decisions and service-level planning.
